Happy Birthday BG!

Holy Cow, Brown Girl has hit it’s first birthday! About a year ago (October 6th to be exact), we launched our first issue with such humble beginnings. Our publication began a 4 person team with one mission: To create a publication that was dedicated to young South Asian women raised in the United States.  And after one year, we’re proud to say we’ve grown into a publication written by young women and with fans all across the great state of Texas. In the past year our staff has grown to over 15 and each issue garners over 1000 unique hits.

But, there is still a long road ahead. In order to grow and expand our readership, we’re launching into our new phase. In the next few months, we’ll be beginning a complete re-design of our website to include new content and bring you closer to us. After all our main mission is to create a publication that is “written for you, by girls just like you”. Our new site will give you an inside look into Brown Girl and allow you to get to personally know our staff. There will be fresh articles, more content, at a more frequent pace.

Second, we’re looking for fresh faces and voices to fill our pages with unique stories that all of our readers can relate to.
