Okay. I feel like I’ve established myself as reliable enough source to say – this is getting f ing ridiculous. I understand that fashion’s appeal is the constant barage of “trends” and designs but is there no moral limit? Seriously. I can only take so much. I mean, why am I pre-ing fall collections? Isn’t the point of a fall collection just to have a fall collection – why is there any pre-fall collection? Ugh. Frustrating.
Anyway, with that being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the pre-fall 2011 shows (Yeah. Hypocrite. I know). I don’t know what it was but there was just a refreshing quality to the shows this go around. Also it may have been the fact there were significantly less shows and I may or may not (may mostly) have just put an alarming amount of Burberry Prorsum pictures instead of looking at other shows (I. LOVE. BURBERRY. PRORSUM. MARRY. ME.).
Whatever the case, here’s what I learned: next fall is kinda like this fall. Leggings, socks, boots, all still power players. So if you’re thinking about buying any of the above, rest assured that they’ll last until next fall. The lady-like trend is still big so look out for lace, softer fabrics, knits, and fitted silhouettes. Finally, I’m seeing a 70s revival (check out Diane Von Furstenburg’s entire line) with colorblock prints, rompers (yeah – still around. ugh.) and cropped pants ( hearting these like crazy. J Crew.’s Mini Pant is a good example). Oh and draping. Draping was all over the place. So take some inspiration from my favs below and don’t forget to do your own research (Wait. Don’t. Just keep coming back here to continue reading and inflating my ego).

BCBG Max Azria Lady-like, drape-y, and colorful. I like the color combo (and the fact that there's a BCBG Max Azria store near me. I can at least look at this stuff in person. Mega points) and the way the fabric is draped around the red band at the neck line (I've noticed a lot of that. Most recently on a gorg H&M skirt).

Burberry Prorsum 1 G.D. No one does a trench like Burberry. NO ONE. And then they put sequins on it? Kill me now.

Chanel I loved this entire collection. It was very Ancient Egyptian-themed and this dress was one of my faves. I love me a good drop waist.

DVF Love the hat (I'm really having a love affair with all types of hats recently) and the color combo - who says Fall has to be bland? (Not me that's for sure). Also, kinda loving the length of the shorts. Feels like modesty is in the air.
