Who said mixing prints is a bad idea? Well, there was once this “fashion rule” that you cannot wear print on print. It was a fashion faux-pas, but I don’t see that rule existing any longer. Move aside all you naysayers, there’s a new trend in town, and I think it’s here to stay.
Mixing prints is always so much fun because let’s face it: Fashion is all about experimenting. I recently met up with a friend for a day out on the town. We started off with brunch and made it an all day thing by exploring the city. This is the day I got a chance to wear an outfit I’d been itching to try.

The details of this ensemble include a one-shouldered top, paired with a ruffled skirt, and to complete the look, a gingham crossbody bag — each one of these pieces is all the rage this summer season. I have been obsessing over this look since the moment I put it together in my head. So, it only made sense to share the end product with all my Brown Girls so y’all can get your hands on these pieces, and we can match!
Also, just in case you were wondering, brunch was at Jane’s Cafe on Third in Naples, Florida. I highly recommend this place — the food was really good, as well as the service and the entire courtyard was super IG-worthy.
All in all, a day well spent amidst food, scenery, and top-notch fashion.
