Hiba Sohail is a political communication major and a women, gender, sexuality studies minor at George Washington. Originally from New York City, her writings often deal with partition, her heritage as a Pakistani, and growing up in the city. They deal with the issues of loss — figuratively and literally — and the complex identity of the diaspora. Her experiences within culture, language, and a post-colonial world have significantly shaped her sense of self and how she perceives her surroundings.
