Today I’m going to talk about something super important: BEAUTY + CHAMPAGNE.

Not many people know that the world’s most favorite celebratory beverage is jam-packed with a ton of antioxidants, vitamins and other types of detoxifying properties that will make our skin and hair glow. Champagne is similar to wine in the sense that it contains resveratrol, a strong antioxidant that protects against damage and provides some solid anti-aging benefits.

Before jumping into its beauty benefits, remember that it’s best to drink in moderation and responsibly. Never use beauty as an excuse to overindulge!

Here’s a list of five ways you can use champagne as a part of your beauty regime starting right now:

1. Exfoliate your skin

The carbon dioxide in champagne acts as a gentle exfoliator to soothe dry skin. You can pour a glass of the fizzy drink into your bubble bath and it’ll act as the perfect exfoliator.

2. Tone your skin

You can use champagne on your face to promote clear skin. Dermatologist Marina Peredo, MD, told NewBeauty, “Champagne detoxifies the skin with antioxidants [and] for those with oily skin, its antibacterial properties aid in leaving last year’s breakouts behind.” Just dab a little champagne on a cotton ball and then over your face after washing for best results.

3. Reduce redness and inflammation

Studies share that each sip is packed with polyphenols to reduce redness and inflammation. Sip on!

4. Brighten your skin

Champagne contains tartaric acid, which helps balance out discoloration and can brighten your skin. You’ll notice the difference when you make it a normal routine to dab some of this celebratory drink on your face.

5. Repair damaged hair

Did you know that the bubbly drink also makes an excellent hair treatment? It can leave strands silky, shiny, and healthy because of the polyphenols and antioxidants, which protect hair from UV damage. Want the hair mask recipe? Here it is:
